West Coast Wing Chun™ (WCWC) San Diego is excited to open its doors to a new WCWC Youth Association! We are now accepting enrollment into our Youth Association Kids program for ages 7-11 years old and Juniors program for ages 12-14 years old.

Our WCWC Youth Association will be learning the traditional art of Wing Chun Kung Fu in a welcoming environment through a curriculum designed to keep our young students engaged, excited, and inspired. We are willing to teach any student with the desire to learn.

Please join us for a trial class!

Membership for the students of the Youth Association will be covered by a monthly tuition. We offer tuition discounts for additional child, and pre-payment discounts:

Our class offerings are two times a week. The student is not required to attend both offerings, but it is highly encouraged. Our class schedule for Youth Association is as followed:

The parents of our WCWC Youth Association are an essential extension of our program. Although we first require the child to meet our requirements, we want to be clear that we are asking for a degree of commitment from the parents or guardians as well. We understand the level of trust each parent is giving us to teach their children during these crucial developmental years and ask that the parents please support us in our effort.

During all class times your presence must be at most 10 minutes from the school, with the ability to arrive upon a phone call should we need your assistance. You are welcome to stay and watch, however we ask that you remain strictly an observer. We need your children to be 100% focused on the Sifu (chief instructor) and assistant instructors, therefore we will kindly ask you to leave if any interruptions are present. Discipline and hard work is required to learn a martial art, thus stern corrections or delivery is sometimes a necessary part of the lessons, and as a parent/guardian you must be cooperative and allow us to apply these methods as we see fit. We have designed our program to be as fun and productive as possible, but we are also very aware of the challenges that arise when teaching youth and are prepared to use these situations as learning opportunities. Our intentions are to ensure your child receives the full benefits of learning this martial art and your partnership is much needed and appreciated.

The members of the WCWC Youth Association will learn what it means to be a martial artist. They will be accepted into our kung fu family and learn the traditional art of Wing Chun Kung Fu. Hard work, dedication and focus will be required. A great deal of skills will be exercised and learned, including the ability to listen, maintain focus and memory, social skills, physical understanding and application, and most of all respect for oneself, fellow students, and instructors. Most importantly, our students will HAVE FUN while learning and training together!

Each one of our students will learn to be confident in their abilities and learn a martial ethic that will assist them throughout life. Our Grandmaster Ip Man has passed down a Code of Conduct through his lineage, and each student will learn to embody these principles:

REMAIN DISCIPLINED

uphold yourself ethically as a martial artist.

PRACTICE COURTESY AND RIGHTEOUSNESS
